once the little sister... always the little sister!


this weekend was an ADVENTURE! My big brother Bentley and his wife Jessica traveled from Knoxville TN... in their car... to come and visit!!!! Bella, The wonder dog, as my brother calls her, joined as well!

the puppies all loved meeting each other~ as you can tell Bella is approximately 15 times Lilly's size. Quite funny when Lilly set her mind on a specific toy! Murphy learned to play at the park with no leash... and all of the puppies tried out the slide with Bentleys guidance! As you can tell, the park was full of laughter!

We did some adventuring in the city and in the burbs... teaching Bentley and Jess about city life was quite fun. Quite different than Knoxvegas :) We enjoyed some wonderful restaurants while they were here... two of our favorite BYOB's Thai Pepper and Cafe San Pietro. Thai Pepper is unique as it serves both Thai and Sushi... we all had wonderful food and sat in the traditional table on the floor. Boat Shoes and I adore Cafe San Pietro, we love taking special people there... and we never order off the menu. They have fabulous specials so we never order the same meal and wait with excitement for the chef's ideas of the day. B and J enjoyed this spot!

What better way to explore Philly than by a 5K for a great cause? We ran the 5K Parkway Run which allowed for some great sites along the way... including the Rocky steps that B and J ran twice! Following the 5K we enjoyed a great brungh with family and friends at Marathon. J and I both indulged~ her with Ricotta and blueberry stuffed french toast and I with dark chocolate chip pancakes... mmmm. We decided to continue our active day by adventuring to a climbing gym that my brothers buddy built! I love trying to be like big brother flip flops... hahahha! Quite humorous... watching them move across the wall like spiderman... and I bopped up for a quick photo shoot!

oh and by the way... MY BROTHER... YES... MY BIG BROTHER came to the LILLY STORE with me! and Jessica and I LOVED perusing lululemon.

on embracing fall.

I have had my first caramel apple cider of the fall and I have purchased a lovely pair of fall shoes. I am loving navy blue this fall and these fit perfectly with my navy and pink love!!!

When Im in Naples...

1. I have..............a good book, a beach hat and a Lilly dress nearby!
2. Maybe I should.........put sunblock on more regularly.
3. I love.......... our home, my pink room and flip flop bathroom, the pool, the beach, spending time with my family and wonderful husband!
4. People would say that I am........hard core about my pool time.
5. I don't understand............why my favorite store, Island Pursuit had to close.
6. When I wake up in the morning…....... I say good morning to boat shoes, open the blinds and lay back down!
7. I have lost........... sunglasses.
8. Life is full of.......... sunshine, smiling, love and family.
9. My past taught me........ that sunshine is good for the soul.
10. I get annoyed.......... when the daily thunderstorm happens in the morning instead of the afternoon.
11. Parties are............ full of flip flops and typically a big celebration... our wedding and mom and dad boat shoes new home!
12. I wish............. for our children to love Naples as much as we do and to have many family vacations all together!
13. Dogs...... are not allowed in Naples.
14. Cats...... are definitely a no no!
15. Tomorrow is......... another day for fun in the sun and relaxation.
16. I have a low tolerance for............... screaming children in pools.
17. If I won a million dollars..............I would stay.
18. I'm totally terrified of............... another yucky hurricane.
19. I've come to realize that my last kiss................makes me want to stay longer.
20. I am listening to............waves, rain fall, family laughing and tree frogs.
21. I talk................about life.
22. My best friends................ stood beside me and before me on my wedding day!
23. My first kiss............ in Naples....was with Boat Shoes!
24. Love is................ flip flops, boat shoes, memories from trinity by the cove and unconditional devotion.
25. Marriage is..............very special.
26. Somewhere, someone is thinking............. that they might like to visit Naples.
27. I'll always...........lay on my favorite raft in the pool.
28. The last time I really cried...............in Naples...was when I said bye to my mom.
29. My cell phone is...........not always near me.
30. Before I go to bed..............I think about what we will do the next day and kiss boat shoes goodnight.
31. Right now I am thinking about...................... going back to Naples.
32. Babies are........................ dressed in adorable bathing suits and hats.
33. Today I............. wished I was in Naples.
34. I really want to be.....................in Naples all of the time.

Fall is on the way...

I am someone who has a hard time with Fall on the way... I LOVE summer with everything in my heart and soul so to think about summer sliding away and fall blowing in makes me a bit sad.

however, my dear friend Virginia Vines LOVES fall and helps me to see all that is wonderful about fall...

So today... if you are not feeling excited about fall... read this little list she started for me... and maybe you too will get excited about what is to come.

-pulling out the bright colored Lilly fleeces
-playing in the fun colored leaves with lilly and murphy and taking adorable pics
-planning halloween costumes
-caramel apple cider from starbucks
-pumpkin!! pumpkin bread if you like it, or if not, just think about decorating pumpkins...2 big ones for you and boat shoes and 2 minis for the pups
-holidays with family
-LILLY SALE!
-birthdays..and even if you're ignoring the actual number of years, birthdays still mean celebrations, cakes and presents
-better weather for boots and Dansko's
-chicken chili

and a few I thought of today...
-scarves
-Murfee scarves from Lilly
-cozy coats
-slipper socks
-the National Christmas tree with my family
-down comforters
-fun running races in shorts and long sleeved shirts WITH thumb holes
-snuggling on the couch
-hot chocolate
-tomato soup and grilled cheese
