Welcome Daffodils!

The daffodils have arrived! Boat shoes and I have 3 lovely daffodils out front... and 4 on the way!

While out for my daily jaunt with the puppies today, I giggled out loud when I noticed FAKE FLOWERS planted in a flower bed. Seriously?! Seriously?! At first, while bopping along, I thought, WOW, those flowers are so bright and then when I peered a little closer I learned their secret. Fake secret. Have you ever heard of this phenomenon?

When I think about it, today was a day for laughing out loud. I was so excited to go for a long walk and then head to my spin class at the gym. I arrived to my class...an hour and a half late. OOPS. I had the Tuesday schedule in my brain, but its only Monday. So I chuckled and decided I would attempt my own spin class, with myself. It actually went quite well~ I came out red faced like a real spin class. Way to go self.

Finally I will leave you with a yummy new chili recipe! It is quite yummy and simple for a chilly evening~ try with cornbread or some blueberry muffins and fresh fruit for a comfort food evening! (**I made half of the recipe, and its alot! Also, make sure to create this yummy meal on a weekend day so you have enough time for it to cook slowly**)

Chicken enchilada chili

2 cans enchilada sauce
2 cans pinto beans
2 cans diced tomatoes (I used garlic or roasted flavor)
Raw chicken breasts (4 for a full recipe~ also, I know it seems weird to put them in raw, trust me, after a long time in the crock pot it shreds so nicely!)
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
*a dash of cinnamon

Put in crock pot on low and cook 7 to 8 hours. Mmmmmmm good!

a TN adventure

It was such a joy to travel to TN to see some of my favorite people!!! I got to spend some time with my favorite kiddos, Sterling and Clark, who I nannied for in grad school. My how they have grown! Clark and I chatted about everything from football to hamsters, second grade to new games at the park... and Sterling and I video chatted with her adorable boyfriend. Sterling and I spent quality girl time together...how fun to watch her turn into such a lovely southern lady.

I also got to spend time with Christie, the lovely bride to be. We chatted about wedding day happenings and had a little bachelorette party!!! Cheers to Christie and Dave and the beautiful garden wedding in May! A favorite was enjoying wine and a lovely meal at Bricktops, one of my favorite restuarants in any city. Guess the 3 cities where its located...

The trip was complete when I got to meet precious Elizabeth Grace! What a wonderful and sweet little girl!!! Angel, Todd, Elizabeth Grace and I ventured for a lovely dinner ~ and of course, miss elizabeth grace was the perfect dinner date... she was quiet, calm and like a magnet for all of the guests at dinner. I didnt put her down the whole weekend... we snuggled, sang, talked about her mommy, talked about her daddy, talked about their wedding day and about what a good girl she is going to be for her baptism in the same church where mom and dad got married... we played in her closet, looked at her cute bows and precious dresses... I learned about bath time and bottles, pacifiers and strollers... what a wonderful time we had! Lots of smiles, lots of laughter and some YUMMY cookies for our time together. Oh... and a precious new pandora bead from miss EG... adorable.

I took copious notes in my last class to come home and teach Boat Shoes what I have learned! I am excited to learn more about portraiture for some upcoming weddings and bouncing babies on the way. I can't wait for my next class!

chocolate!

the past few weeks have had a few different chocolate adventures with friends!!!

First... in the top left please note a lovely piece of chocolate cake with a glass of milk. Adorable right?! Adorable. My dear friend Jen and I were bopping around one evening and decided, why not go to a lovely little restaurant for a yummy bite sized plate and dessert. We enjoyed our time at Plate and closed the restaurant... we tend to lose track of time easily. YUM! What a great way to share an evening!

Second... Amelia's birthday at Chocolate by The Bald Guy. Look at those lovely drinks... and the chocolate fondue. Simply delicious!!! A yummy evening filled with friends and laughter. It was so good that I will be taking my mom there for her birthday dinner this week in Phiadelphia!

Third... CUPCAKES!!! Who doesnt love a good cupcake? Boat Shoes and I were walking in Manhattan when we came across this adorable spot, Baked by Melissa. Knowing that we had a 2 hour drive ahead and a car full of 6 people, we thought, cupcakes for a road trip would be just the ticket! So a little bof of 12 bite sized cupcakes was perfect... 2 for each person. The requirement... to share thoughts and ratings of the cupcake that you ate! The Chocolate Chip Pancake, Cookie Dough and Cookies and Cream all had rave reviews.

So looking for a sweet treat? Try one of these lovely spots!

I think airports should have wireless internet available!

Don't they know I need to upload collages and blog posts?!?

My plan was to upload in the Philly airport before Nasvhille... no internet. Then plan B... upload in Nashville before Christie picked me up... no internet. So no posts before my fabulous weekend in Nashville...womp womp.

So get ready friends... all of my stored collages and posts are about to be posted!!!
