celebrating a very special Bride and Groom

Before Meaghan and Rob
Walk down the aisle
Let’s shower them with gifts
To start their new life in style.

Please join us for a
His & Hers Shower

Kaya's Fusion Cuisine
Havertown, PA

What a honor to host a "his and hers" shower for our dear friends Meaghan and Rob! A saturday late afternoon was the perfect time and Kaya's Fusion Cuisine was a great location. We worked closely with the restaurant to create a unique vegetarian menu for the bride and groom that would also appeal to all of the guests. The team at Kaya's came up with some lovely creations!

The menu:
Guacamole and chips
Crustini
Fried Artichoke hearts
Sashimi & Tofu Triangles
Crabcakes

The wine tasting:
We selected 10 wines, both red and white, for the wine tasting. We created cards for each guest to write the number of the wine as well as their thoughts and opinions. On the back we created a spot for each guest to guess the bride's most favorite selection and the groom's most favorite selection.

Dessert:
The cakes came from the lovely bakery, Bredenbecks, in Chestnut Hill. One cake was a decadent chocolate chip cheesecake and the other was a vanilla pound cake with lemon and raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream. Delicious!

Favors:
We made little bags of kettle corn for each guest and created labels, "Thanks for popping by to celebrate Meaghan and Rob!" they were a hit with the guests!

The flowers:
With the help from mom flip flops, we created all of the flower arrangements from fresh flowers we purchased at the Philadelphia Flower show! We jazzed up the vases with small ribbons in the colors for the shower, lime and navy.

The guest book:
We created a photo book from iPhoto with photos of the bride and groom! We left spaces for all of the guests to write their wedding wishes to the bride and groom.

CHEERS to Meaghan and Rob!

Beautifully Done.

May God give all of us...
For every storm...a rainbow
For every tear...a smile
For every care...a promise
For every sigh...a sweet song
And an answer for each prayer.

"When we stand before God to give him our accounting, our deepest longing is to hear Him say, Well done!" I am certain that on Monday, March 28th, when Grandma stood before Him, God smiled and said "Beautifully Done"! I am also sure that when He took her hand He was so happy to have a new gentle angel with such wonderfully soft little hands!

Road Trip 2011

Boat shoes and I had quite an adventure.

Through 8 states... down to Florida for my Grandmother's funeral and back up to Georgia for our dear friends Meaghan and Rob's wedding day. What an interesting mix of emotions.. sadness and happiness all mixed together.

Boat shoes and I have a couple hints for those of you ready to embark on a road trip:

~you need the mad libs app
~its the perfect time to learn about the Royal Wedding and become slightly obsessed
~XM radio is a must
~when XM radio gets dull, pull out a laptop and make a new road trip mix
~boat shoes loves keeping track of gas mileage, dont worry there's an app for that too!
~the chick-fil-a app, also a must for locating the next arnold palmer
~sonic happy hour, the perfect afternoon pick me up, diet cherry limeade, Yes please!

Above all, Boat Shoes and I had quite a nice time together... 43 hours in the car together and still smiling, I guess we are pretty good at this road trip thing after all!
