for the perfect wallet.
so currently, i have all of my wallet necessities in my Vera Bradley wristlet.
now don't get me wrong... it is great for "on the go" however, I carry my fabulous navy blue Longchamp bag everywhere so now I would like to have a sophisticated yet cute and practical wallet to go with it...
any suggestions?

life happens.
Sometimes there are little reminders that life happens.
We have had two lately...
1. mri results
2. a phone call
Let me explain...
1. After the BBL half marathon I felt great... except for my right knee. That night I was in excruciating pain. Derek had to give me piggy back rides down the stairs... I was frustrated, disheartened but hopeful ice and advil would help me prevail. But after the chief of sports medicine at a local hospital saw me and ordered an MRI of my knee and told me I may not run no matter what, the hope started fading. And then the results... "it is almost a stress fracture. it is what we call a medial proximal stress injury caused by significant distances and running. no running... for 4 to 6 weeks... and no marathon." I have been digesting that information for about a week and am just now able to talk about it without getting teary. Angel and I have also picked a marathon to run in December... which will give me plenty of time to heal and to train. Stay tuned.
2. A phone call from the owners of our home letting us know, it is going on the market in 4 months. We can either buy it, or move. Now with "Boat Shoes" owning a home in NC already it does not make sense for us to own two homes, so that leaves us with one choice... find an adorable new home with a fenced in backyard for our little Lilly Bean.
Life happens. We make plans and sometimes we are reminded that the best made plans will sometimes change.. and that my friends is when we remember, life happens.
The next house will be more adorable ... and the next marathon will be just as wonderful as this one would have been.

puppy play date
my dear friend susan made the trip from annapolis to philly for a puppy weekend... darcy mae and lilly bean finally got to meet! (and Susan and I got to talk about her super fun Annapolis wedding, register at WIlliams Sonoma, eat yummy Thai food, drink fabulous wine and do some shopping!
lilly learned a few things from darcy's visit~
1. bigger dogs have ALOT of energy - I was tuckered out
2. when susan says touch and puts her finger up.. you touch it with your nose and get a treat!
3. sometimes I get a little scared... so I flip over on my back
4. when darcy mae wants to play nibble, I dont understand when I should squeal to tell her to stop.. so then my mom puts her hand in between us
5. I love watching darcy mae run on her really long leash... so I asked for one... and I got one!
6. Darcy mae gets to sleep in bed with her mom... jealous.
7. Darcy mae has a really big bed, and I love laying in it.
8. We love sharing our food with each other
9. Darcy drinks alot of water... I should drink more like her (but not pee in the house)
10. We love having matching leashes and can't wait to play again!

a balloon named grandma.
ready for a cute story (that might make you a little teary)?
I was talking to my cousin courtney today who cares for my grandmother (and has a 5 yo little girl.. Berit). Grandma is a pretty amazing little lady with a zest for life even in her 91 years.
Berit, a character of a little girl, talks about how she wishes grandma was young and could play more with her. So, she blew up a balloon, painted a happy face with rosy cheeks on it (no glasses) and announced to her mom, "this is young grandma." She proceeded to carry the balloon with her throughout the day and mentioned how she isn't sick, doesn't need glasses and can dance around with her. Furthermore, she often talks about how it will be ok when Grandma goes to heaven....She will get to dance with the angels. Adorable.
We should all take a moment and think like a child...
ps. this photo is from her 90th bday party... Berit wanted her dressed in pink... WITH a crown!
