a bridesmaid adventure

I love everything wedding. It is a great honor to attend a wedding and an even greater honor to stand by the bride and groom's side as they say "I do!"

I am honored to stand beside Christie and Dave in May as they exchange vows!!! It will be a beautiful garden service with family, friends and children! Christie and Dave have many special little ones in their lives that will ring bells, toss flowers and just look adorable. Everyone will be dressed beautifully in khaki suits and lovely light green, midori, dresses in various styles! (my choice)

I made an appointment at a lovely bridal boutique for my dress fitting and so began the adventure. After being under-impressed by the sales woman after she knew my dress would be ordered in Gallatin, TN I knew it was going to be an interesting morning. The woman at the boutique "allowed" me to try on the dresses to then be informed that she would not take my measurements since I was not purchasing the dress in their shop. Seriously? You have to be kidding me. Simple measurements. Boat Shoes and I were not pleased, so we continued on the trek for measurements.

We arrive at location 2. My favorite tailor in the area which no longer exists. Sad.

We arrive at location 3. Boat Shoes favorite tailor which has changed owners and no longer does measurements or fine tailoring. Sad for boat shoes. However, the new owner recommended the most wonderful boutique and fine tailor.

We arrive at Sew Rob. An adorable boutique and fine tailor that has now become a FAVORITE place. All things happen for a reason and now I have a lovely tailor and a new place to shop! Rob completed my measurements and was a joy to work with. He had great suggestions for a dress I will be wearing next weekend to a black tie event and for the new dress I purchased with an adorable collar line and exposed zipper in the back! Don't worry, I will share when I wear it! I am so excited about this new hidden gem!

To complete the story, I went for a little shopping adventure with my dear friend Jen to find her a fun new outfit. We were going to Suburban Square my favorite shopping venue. What could be better than an adorable little square with a J.Crew with their new spring line, Lilly Pulitzer with their beautiful new years collection and a Starbucks for a warm refreshing drink..Just to name a few. We found her a precious new dress and we ventured to an adorable boutique called Styche. It is a favorite of mine with wonderful service, adorable and elegant clothes, fun and festive accessories that all make a statement. I found the most fabulous coat that makes a statement. As the store owner stated, "this is a conversation coat." It is part of the Ariella design collection, is black with a fitted bodice, bubble bottom and fabulous shawl neckline.

Chic. Very very chic.

(Oh and by the way, tailoring came up in our conversation at Styche...and the owner shared that he is Sewrob's brother!!! crazy small little fashion world!)
